"Your training program may require creative meal scheduling if you exercise during meal times. For example, if you exercise at 6 p.m. --potentially at the height of your hunger-- you might better enjoy your training if you eat part of your dinner beforehand. For example, trade in your 200-calorie bagel at 5:00 p.m."--from the excellent book, "Nancy Clark's Food Guide for Marathoners."
I'm taking advantage of today's cooler weather and running on the roads! Soon, most of my training runs will be on the treadmill.
9:30 a.m. Recovery Run. 5 miles. Time, 48:55. Pace, 9:47 minute miles. Out and back on Lindell Road. Clear, 70 degrees, Wind NNW at 20mph, with 30+mpm gusts! Average heart rate: 144 bpm. Cardiac drift: 151 bpm. The wind was blasting, but did make the weather feel even cooler! The temperatures in Vegas will remain in the upper 70's throughout the week, which means I'll be continuing to run on the roads!! No aches nor pain and felt very loose and relaxed during the run, which was a great feeling. Tomorrow I'll be attempting a quicker, longer, General Aerobic Run on the roads.

Glad to hear the weather broke so you could get a comfortable run in today:)
The cooler weather should last for at least a week, a nice reprieve from my return to treadmill training.
