"Realise there will be times ahead when the going will get--Nick Sharp, Team Sabb Salomon Ultra Runner
ultra-tough." Prepare yourself by putting trust in your training, knowing you've managed to break the pain barrier before is great for your state of mind on race day. Tell yourself that you know you can do this, and you've nothing to worry about."
Normally Mondays are my Long Runs, but since this is my first day of Recovery Week a Medium-Long Run of 12 miles will suffice.
9:30 a.m. Medium Long Run, 12 miles. Life Fitness Treadmill set at a 1% grade. 6 miles at 6.5 mph (9:14 minute miles) and last 6 miles at 6.6 mph (9:06 minute miles). Average heart rate 143 bpm. Cardiac Drift: 148 bpm. Both my body and mind was itching for more mileage, nevertheless, remained steadfast to make this a shorter and easier run. I know the importance of a Recovery Week, but already miss pushing myself to my limits.
